We are proud to share that Shamiram ‘Shammy’ Benjamin, a student in our English-language medical program, has been awarded the title of ‘Best International Student in Poland’ in Master studies category in the 2023 Interstudent competition organized by the “Perspektywy” Education Foundation, under the honorary patronage of the President of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland and of the Minister of Science and Higher Education.
We are honored to host dr. Paweł Pomianowski, MD, who graduated from PUMS English-language medical Class of 1998 and proceeded to complete his residency in internal medicine at Penn State College of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in medical genetics at Yale University School of Medicine. He currently holds the position of Director for the Center of Medical Genetics and Genomics at Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute of ChristianaCare in Delaware, USA.

On December 7, 2022, a ceremony was held at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinical Hospital of PUMS to name the Neonatology Ward II, headed by Prof. Tomasz Szczapa, after the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation.

Researchers from Stanford University have compiled an update to their ranking of top 2% most cited scientists in the world using an algorithm based on h-index, work experience, field of study and other factors. We are proud to share that several of our colleagues from PUMS have ranked high enough to be included in this edition.

We are pleased to announce that the Karol Jonscher PUMS Clinical Hospital has received financing from the Medical Fund for the implementation of the project "Pediatrics PLUS – an adaptation of the strategic infrastructure to Sanitary Inspectorate's orders and standards of care, together with the development of a daycare center for psychiatric care for children and adolescents".
With the beginning of the new academic year, on October 1st, a new director has been appointed to manage the Center for Medical Education in English - Assoc. Prof. Aleksandra Uruska is joing the administrative team together with two deputies: Prof. Adrianna Mostowska as Vice-Director, Associate Dean for Basic Sciences of MD Program, and Assistant Prof. Magdalena Cerbin-Koczorowska as Associate Director for Education and Development.
