Study Rooms

Moving to an entirely new country can be a mix between exhilarating and a little overwhelming – especially if you’ve never been away from home or you don’t know a single word of the language and everything sounds like a bunch “sch” gibberish.  Well, its a good thing you have us, your RAs (Residential Advisors).

It’s the space you’ll probably barely see during your first year. 😛

The Dormitory Administration kindly offers a beginner’s set for all the basics you may need. These comprise of:

  1. A large pillow, blanket and comforter.
  2. A lamp.
  3. An Internet cable.
  4. Some cleaning supplies.

New lightbulbs, an Iron with an ironing board, vacuums and mop are available at any time too, you just need to go speak to your porter. 🙂

Once you have all your paperwork done, and you’re in your room. You have to contact one of the RA’s for an initial inspection. This is to make sure all damages are recorded so you don’t get into any trouble later.

Note: Freshmen should contact the RA Director. A simple facebook message will do.

There is no communal wifi in dormitories, so it’s up to you to get your own router – but do note that it has to be compatible with ethernet. Something like this will work. High speed internet is free across all dorms, and as of this year, new servers have been installed for longer up time.

All Freshmen are assigned roommates due to new School Regulations. It’s not an easy task to live with another person, but we have come up with some tips on trying to maintain a good relationship with them. We always ask you to take the step to work with your roommate across any issues you face before contacting our team.

Hopefully, you are familiar with the most dangerous store for most student bank accounts – IKEA. It is an addictive, beautifully organized furniture store from godly scented candles to ridiculously soft cotton sheets and everything in between for affordable prices with frequent sales!

IKEA is unfortunately about a half an hour away from dorms and will require the use of an uber or trams to get there. If you’re from the states and have never used a tram, don’t sweat it! I highly suggest downloading the app “Jakdojade”.

If IKEA can’t satisfy all your needs (or you somehow can resist the temptation of it), there are also some options for you to go in this city.
