To provide hands-on ultrasound experience to PUMS medical students. During the academic year, the group will host virtual and in-person meetings where clinical faculty from varied disciplines share how they use ultrasound in their practice. In addition, the facebook page will serve as a platform where information regarding virtual seminars and conferences will be collected in effort to provide more educational opportunities. The UMIG is not meant to be a formal training program, it is simply a way for interested students to become acquainted with ultrasound software and machines made available to students. Since point-of-care ultrasound is quickly becoming a valuable part of nearly every speciality, all students can benefit from the skills they are exposed to as part of this group.
